Here are a few images I took during a sit-in in front of the Egyptian embassy in Amman in support of the Egyptian uprising against the Mubarak regime. The people held the Egyptian flag alongside the Jordanian flag as well as pictures of Gamal Abdel Nasser and chanted slogans in support of the Egyptian people demanding Mubarak steps down and follows the former Tunisian Ben Ali to Saudi Arabia.
The people also chanted in support of Tunisia, Yemen, Iraq, Palestine as well as Sudan communicating the importance of a popular revolt and how it is the way to the reform the entire region needs. At some point the demonstrators even cheered asking for Al Bakhit – the newly appointed Jordanian prime minister, who has only been in position a few hours – asking him to step down.

Interesting! You cheer for AbdelNasser who came to power through a coup, banned all political parties and created a one-party dictatorial system, jailed, tortured, assassinated and executed millions of egyptians and arabs and thousnds of clerics, literati and politicians?!
You support the revolution against a dictator by cheering for a criminal and THE FATHER OF ARAB DICTATORSHIP? very interesting indeed!

Dear 6orgo3 looz, if you haven’t noticed I only covered what happened with a little bit of text and some pictures, i did not give my opinion on whatever was said. I personally was not alive anywhere near the time Abdel Nasser was alive, nor am I an expert in anything Egyptian in general. Maybe one day I will be able to argue with you and reply back with what i think Abdel Nasser was or wasn’t, but for the time being I went there to show my support for the people, and I did refrain from cheering some sentences that I didn’t agree with. Thank you for your comment.
