I’ve read the phrase ‘In the spirit of ideas worth spreading’ around a hundred times these last couple of days, and I can not even begin to think of any other sentence to describe what TED does better than this one.

I already expressed my love for TED in this post a long time ago, and today I am just jumping out of joy because I will be able to attend one, even if it’s not fully live. So imagine my joy, and imagine the number of times it has doubled only because it will be in Palestine.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks, I introduce to you *drum roll* TEDxRamallah.

“TEDxRamallah aims to showcase inspiring stories of Palestine. It also aims to educate and inspire by providing a space for people to share their ideas in any field, whether science, education, literature, technology, design, etc. to contribute to the positive perception of Palestine.”

So TEDxRamallah will happen in Bethlehem, Beirut and Amman. Beirut and Amman being live streamings with a few live talks for the speakers who can’t get into Palestine.

You might ask why it’s called TEDxRamallah while it’s actually in Bethlehem, well the event was initially set up to happen in Ramallah but the venue was not ready so it was moved to the Convention Palace in Bethlehem.

I am very excited about this because of a multiple of reasons, the first being that most speakers are new to this scene of public events are all figures that have contributed to change within their communities. They were picked to really represent inspiring stories of Palestine.

You can check out the list of speakers here, my favorites and the ones I am patiently waiting to hear are Suad Amiry, Munir Fasheh and Saleh Abdel Jawad.

Reason number 2 for my excitement is the list of performers, from DAM, Rim Banna to Zeina Barhoum and more, the full day event can not be any more entertaining!

And the coolest thing yet is that the event will be streamed to over 20 cities worldwide. Some will be live like: Dubai, Amman, Irbid, Doha, Qatar, Riyadh, Cairo, Berlin, Budapest, Paris, London and much more! Some will be streamed afterward due to the time difference, like: Toronto, Montreal, Boston, New York and a few others.

If all this shows something it definitely reflects the fact that this is not an event to be missed.

If you’re in Amman get up right now and go purchase a ticket from Books@Café, Turtle Green Tea Bar, Wheels Express or DNA personal training studios and show up at Landmark Amman tomorrow to be inspired.

Ready. Aim. Inspire.
