First, meet Tarek and Yasmine.

“Beirut, I Love You (I Love You Not) is a TV/web-series following the lives of 5 young twenty-ish Lebanese, Tarek, the thinking-too-much-feeling-too-little wannabe actor, Yasmine, the daydreamer movie-freak waitress, Carlo, the overly neat super-clean and endlessly-job-hunting maniac, Hady, the womanizer though full of deep scars from his past, and Walid, the long-term lost, depressed and heart-broken waiter, at their best and at their worst.”

I fell in love with this idea ever since I saw this video over a year ago. Mixing Mashrou’ Leila music with anything art or culture related can not be anything but a massive hit.

Here are a few of my favorite episodes, I had a hard time picking from them, so there are many embedded videos below. You can watch the entire series on Beirut I Love You. More episodes are yet to come, but I am hooked already.

Check out their Facebook page here as well.

I long for the day that Amman fully develops an identity that can be so beautifully translated into video and music. We’re on our way Beirut so watch out. :p
