One thing i understand now that i really didn’t before this camp was how easy salvation was. The theme of the camp was just that, salvation. It concentrated on this illness all humans have, the illness we all die of, no matter who we are, it’s universal. The first day of camp was about diagnosing this illness, what is it? What is the reason behind all the evil in this world? The reason is this illness, our separation from our creator.

“Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it, All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field; By the sweat of your face you will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:17-19)

The second day/step was pointing out the symptoms. For every illness there are symptoms, whether showing or hidden, these symptoms point out that there is some kind of illness, never have these symptoms been the illness itself, the wrong in this world is but a symptom to mankind’s illness, his separation from God, and once you see these symptoms, and diagnose the illness then and only then can you begin to cure yourself from the illness therefore erasing the symptoms that come along with it.

The third day/step was getting to know this illness we have, you have to know what’s wrong with you before you fix it, you have to fix the problem from its roots, if you only get rid of the symptoms they will keep coming back for the illness still exists. This illness we have is us thinking that our rights delete our wrongs, it’s us expecting God to forgive all our sins because we do a little good in our lives, it’s thinking we’re believers when we’re really not, it’s thinking that we have an eternal future with God when we truly do not deserve it since we do not really accept Gods presence in our lives.

to heaven

The forth day/step is the solution. To understand above all that God will only forgive all our sins if we become his sons and daughters, if we truly believe in that, that we are his sons and daughters, then salvation will be ours to have. We should understand that God has done all to cure our illness, he’s the doctor, and he has offered the solution, and now it’s up to us whether we receive it or push it away. Once we receive it then we will be strong in God, we will be happy in God, we will live fully in God. If we refuse the solution and go the other way then there is nothing more the doctor can do for us.

God IS the solution, for with him nothing can be too hard for us to accomplish, no one can be strong enough to break us.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.” (john 10:11-14)

Once we are his he will care for us all the days of our lives, because that’s what a father does, he never leaves his children in times of need. But if we are not his children then he can never accept all our faults and forgive all our sins. God is great yes, He is love, but for us to receive this everlasting love we have to live with him every day as our father, as our everything.

“The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.” (Nahum 1:7)
